SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

The crimes listed here were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.

DISTRICT A

Throwing missiles at occupied dwelling: 4400 block Cole Ave., Oct. 15, someone threw bricks through windows.

Breaking and entering: 4400 block Armstrong Ave., Oct. 15, a man said someone entered his home and assaulted him.

Grand larceny: 2100 block Partridge Place, Oct. 16, someone pried a back window open and took one silver speaker box and three black amplifiers valued at $3,000.

Petty larceny: 6000 block Camellia Drive, Oct. 16, someone broke a vehicle's driver's side window and removed a small Western Auto tool box valued at $20 from underneath the seat.

Lost or stolen boat: 9300 block Dixon Road, Oct. 19, a 54-foot-long white and gray rowboat, tag number VA2845GG, VA-90, reported stolen or broken loose from pier.

Grand larceny: 3200 block Bridge Road, someone removed two six-foot scaffolding frames and four cross braces from the construction site of the new Bennett's Creek Pharmacy.

Lost or stolen decal: 6800 block Crittenden Road, owner of 1980 Ford 4-door sedan cannot find 1994 city decal, number 25466, purchased in March.

Grand larceny: 1400 block Shady Grove Lane, Oct. 22, someone stole Michelin size 205-7017 tires and aluminum custom rims off passenger side of truck.

Petty larceny: 6300 block Townpoint Road, Oct. 25, someone pried open the trunk lid of a 1979 Chevrolet Impala and removed a tool box and tools valued at $100.

Grand larceny: 4600 block Hardy Court, Oct. 25, someone removed a VCR, serial number 165NZ083, and about 570 VCR tapes.

Throwing missiles at occupied motor vehicle: 6800 block of Crittenden Road, Oct. 25, someone threw a rock through the left side of school bus No. 47, striking the heads of two children who were not injured.

Petty larceny: 6900 block Respass Beach Road, Oct. 25, someone entered a silver, two-door 1985 Chevrolet Camaro and removed a black diver's type watch and $4 in quarters.

DISTRICT B

Breaking and entering: 800 block Kings Highway, Oct. 15, someone entered a rear door of the social hall of St. John's Episcopal Church, departing an office when he was confronted by a neighbor.

Hit and run: Route 58 and Route 10, Oct. 17, a driver struck a guard rail after being run off the road by another driver who fled the scene.

Petty larceny: 6000 block Godwin Blvd., Oct. 17, someone paid for $4 worth of gas then pumped $12.93 into his car, told the clerk it was caused by a faulty pump and left, returning later to pay the difference.

Grand larceny: 200 block Burnett's Way, Oct. 17, someone broke the left rear vent window of a vehicle and removed the Pioneer AM/FM cassette/car radio.

Grand larceny: 100 block Poplar Grove Crescent, Oct. 17, someone broke the driver's side door window and removed the Kenwood AM/FM CD player valued at $350.

Grand larceny: Route 58 west of weighing scales, Oct. 17, a woman left her car on the side of the road after having a flat. Upon returning, she discovered that someone had entered her vehicle by breaking the right rear vent window and removed a speaker box and speakers, a Whitney amplifier and a car jack.

Vandalism: 100 block of Burnett's Way, Oct. 19, someone threw two rocks through a construction trailer window.

Vandalism: 3400 block Godwin Blvd., Oct. 21, someone possibly poured water into the gas tanks of a 1978, 24-foot Sea Raider boat docked at Brady's Marina.

Grand larceny: 2600 block Robin Hood Trail, Oct. 24, someone removed a black G.E. cellular phone valued at $300 from residence.

Petty larceny: 400 block Pembroke Lane, Oct. 25, someone removed one red antique fire engine pedal car with two wooden ladders valued at $300.

Petty larceny: 400 block Pembroke Lane, Oct. 25, someone removed one solar-powered electric fence charger from a fence post.

Felonious assault: 5400 block Godwin Blvd., Oct. 25, someone entered the house and struck the resident with a television as he slept, cutting the back of his head and left eye.

Grand larceny: 2300 block Wilroy Road, Oct. 25, someone removed one stainless steel sink from the construction site behind Allied Colloids.

Stolen firearm: 2400 block of Nansemond Parkway, Oct. 27, a man stole an automatic handgun from a vehicle.

DISTRICT C

Assault and battery: Saratoga and Market streets, Oct. 15, a male said he was physically assaulted by two suspects.

Vandalism: 700 block North Main St., Oct. 15, a woman said a man broke out windows and smashed the windshield on her 1986 Volkswagen.

Petty larceny: 500 North Broad St., Oct. 15, someone entered a vehicle and removed a cellular phone antenna and a pair of prescription glasses with black frames.

Residential breaking and entering: 303 Bute St., Oct. 17, someone entered the house and removed a G.E. VCR.

Vandalism: 300 block West Washington St., Oct. 17, someone shot a street light at the rear of Planters Peanut Center.

Injured person: Wilson and Wellons streets, Oct. 19, woman said she was struck by a man in the upper arm while walking.

Grand larceny: 100 block Suffolk Plaza, Oct. 19, a man cashed a payroll check for $228, which turned out to be a duplicate check he had been told to return to the originator after a stop-payment was ordered on it.

Petty larceny: 1200 North Main St., Oct. 22, a man with a bandage on his chin concealed two bottles of Revlon Fire and Ice Cologne and left the store without paying for them, fleeing with an accomplice.

Vandalism: 100 block North Main St., Oct. 22, someone broke front window of business with a beer can, resulting in $500 damage.

Malicious wounding: 100 block Chestnut St., Oct. 23, a boy said he was riding his bicycle with four other children when a shot bullet struck his left foot.

Armed robbery: 100 block Causey Ave., Oct. 23, a man said he was walking when someone grabbed him and demanded all his money, $8, which he turned over.

Threatening to burn: 800 block Brook Ave., Oct. 23, a man poured a flammable fluid throughout the house and threatened to ignite it if anyone approached.

Petty larceny: 1200 block North Main St., Oct. 23, store security saw a male shopper put six Hewlett-Packard paint ribbons into a decorations box and pay for the box, but not the ribbons.

Vandalism: 400 block North Main St., Oct. 23, someone entered the post office through an unlocked front door and kicked out a window pane on the north side of the building, resulting in an estimated $200 damage.

Petty larceny: 700 block North Main St., Oct. 23, someone pumped $7 worth of gas into his vehicle, paying for only $5 before leaving.

Hit and run property damage: 400 block Kilby Ave., Oct. 24, a police officer attempted to stop a suspicious vehicle when the driver and three passengers jumped out of the vehicle, still in gear, which then hit a power pole.

Vandalism: 600 block Third Ave., Oct. 24, a man told a group of neighborhood children to stop playing in his yard and later found two of his rechargeable yard lights broken, resulting in about $25 damage.

Possession of Cocaine: 400 block Market St., Oct. 25, a man was arrested for being drunk in public and found to have a silver tube with black tape on one end used as a smoking device.

Counterfeit currency: 1000 block of North Main St., Oct. 25, someone passed a bogus $100 bill at Lowe's which was discovered when it was deposited at Bank of Suffolk.

Possession of marijuana: Western Tidewater Regional Jail, Oct. 25, a male was found to have marijuana on him while being processed on a drunk in public charge.

Abandoned vehicle: Hannah Hunt Boulevard, Oct. 25, a 1986 gray Ford Escort L station wagon was towed after being left on the street for a week.

Grand larceny: 200 block North Main St., Oct. 27, someone pried open the vent window of a vehicle and removed a JVC AM/FM cassette radio valued at $250.

Petty larceny: 200 block Market St., Oct. 27, a man was spotted fleeing from a vehicle from which it was discovered money and vehicle manuals had been taken.

DISTRICT D

Brandishing gun: 400 block East Washington St., Oct. 15, a man who had been banned from a convenience store put his purchases and money on the counter and told the clerk he would rob the place, holding up a small black object that looked like a gun, unless he was served.

Residential breaking and entering: 400 block Pleasant St., Oct. 15, a man said his front door had been pried open and a color G.E. television with the serial number, 308226362, taken.

Hit and run: 400 North 5th St., Oct. 15, a man said someone left the roadway and struck his automobile which was parked in the driveway near his house.

Hit and run property damage: 100 block Morgan St., Oct. 15, a woman said a vehicle driven by a man struck her house and a telephone pole before leaving the scene.

Petty larceny: 300 block Goodman St., Oct. 15, someone entered a vehicle and removed a Virginia inspection sticker, No. E7413936, with a June 1995 expiration date.

Possession of cocaine: 100 block South 12th St., Oct. 16, a man threw a white piece of paper containing suspected crack cocaine from the passenger side window during inspection of a suspicious vehicle.

Possession of marijuana: 100 block South 12th St., Oct. 16, a man admitted he had marijuana in a visor pouch during inspection of a suspicious vehicle.

Petty larceny: 200 block Oak St., Oct. 16, someone entered an unlocked vehicle and removed a February 1995 Virginia inspection sticker.

Grand larceny: 1000 block Lake Kennedy Drive, Oct. 16, a woman said her daughter removed several precious stone and gold rings and pawned them.

Grand larceny auto: 1200 block Lake Kennedy Drive, Oct. 17, someone stole a vehicle from the driveway.

Recovered stolen auto: 100 block C St., Oct. 17, 1994 Ford Escort wrecked and abandoned, later learned stolen from Portsmouth.

Receiving stolen goods: 400 block East Washington St., Oct. 17, a man was charged with receiving stolen goods after his vehicle was found with stolen license plates and city decal.

Felonious assault: 100 block Oak St., Oct. 17, a man struck a woman in the head with a hammer causing a one-inch laceration.

Petty larceny: 1000 block Truman Road, Oct. 17, someone entered a vehicle and removed the Virginia inspection sticker with an expiration date of April 1995.

Residential breaking and entering: 900 block White Marsh Road, Oct. 18, a man was seen leaving the home where $25 was discovered missing.

Unlawful concealment: 1200 block White Marsh Road, Oct. 18, a security guard at Food Lion tried to stop a man he saw leave the store with a bulge under his shirt, but the man assaulted the guard and got away.

Throwing missiles at house: 300 block Beech St., Oct. 18, someone threw an object through the front window into the living room but no one was in the room at the time.

Petty larceny: 400 block Fulcher St., Oct. 18, a man said someone removed an Advance battery from his truck.

Petty larceny: 100 block Capitol St., Oct. 19, a man's check for $95 was stolen from his mailbox and cashed.

Grand larceny: 100 block Dill Road, Oct. 19, someone took about $250 worth of assorted hand tools from a city vehicle.

Hit and run: 100 block Greenfield Crescent, Oct. 19, a driver struck a woman's vehicle and fled the scene.

Threatening to burn: 600 block Matthew Court, Oct. 21, a woman said a man threatened to burn down her house.

Breaking and entering: 1400 block Wilroy Road, Oct. 21, someone entered the residence by prying out the front door glass, removing several items.

Shooting into occupied dwelling: 300 block East Washington St., Oct. 21, someone fired a shot into the east side window of Metropolitan Baptist Church Day Care, where a bullet was recovered.

Malicious wounding: East Washington and Cullodan streets, Oct. 23, a woman said she was attacked from behind while a second woman tried to break up a fight between two others.

Grand larceny: 500 block East Constance Road, Oct. 23, someone removed about $320 from the cash register at BeLo's.

Grand larceny auto: 1000 block Bracy Drive, Oct. 24, a man said a silver and black 1981 Ford F-100 truck was removed from his residence with about $1,800 worth of tools inside.

Trailer breaking and entering: 100 block County St., Oct. 24, someone entered a storage trailer by prying the lock off, although none of the peanuts was missing.

Petty larceny: 600 block East Constance Road, Oct. 24, someone unzipped a plastic window, valued at $170, from a 1992 Geo Tracker convertible.

Petty larceny: 200 block Pleasant St., Oct. 22, someone removed the rear license plate from a 1985 2-door Mercury, tag No. ZWN-4807.

Hit and run property damage: 400 block Central Ave., Oct. 25, someone struck a 1989 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 4-door, silver automobile in the rear while it was parked, and left the scene.

Malicious wounding: 500 block Warwick St., Oct. 25, a man said a woman cut him with a knife during an argument.

Residential breaking and entering: 200 block Columbus Ave., Oct. 25, someone broke into an apartment by prying open the front door and removed a 25-inch color television, a VCR and a microwave oven and a Sega Genesis game unit.

Felony vandalism: North Main Street and East Constance Road, Oct. 25, someone knocked over several graveyard headstones in Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Habitual offender: East Washington and Lloyd streets, Oct. 24, a man who has been adjudicated an habitual offender was seen driving a 1986 Cadillac, 4-door burgundy sedan.

Vandalism: 300 block Finney Ave., Oct. 26, someone broke back window and flattened tires on a vehicle.

Felonious assault: 1000 block Davis Blvd., Oct. 27, someone was cut on the arm with a butcher knife during an argument.

Lost or stolen handgun: 100 block South 5th St., a Davis P-380, serial number AP424236 was listed as missing by unknown means.

Vandalism: 100 block Katherine St., Oct. 27, a man trespassed on the enclosed front porch.

DISTRICT E

Grand larceny: 200 block Pond Drive, Oct. 15, someone entered a vehicle and removed an Orion 250 SX amplifier, speaker and speaker box, plus a key ring with 60 keys.

Grand larceny: 9000 block Gates Road, Oct. 17, a man and a woman said each was robbed of $150 by a female.

Grand larceny: 1600 block Faulk Road, Oct. 17, someone broke the driver's-side window, removed a CB radio and attempted to take the AM/FM radio.

Unauthorized use of vehicle: 10000 block Camp Pond Road, Oct. 18, a woman said her son drove the vehicle away without permission while she was visiting her mother.

Petty larceny: 1000 Dutch Road, Oct. 19, someone entered the vehicle and removed a pocketbook containing a driver's license, checkbook, change purse, wallet and assorted papers.

Abandoned vehicle: Franklin Bypass and East Southampton Lane, Oct. 22, a 1983 Mercury Cougar, two-door gray car found with expired Illinois license plates and an expired Texas inspection sticker.

Petty larceny: 800 block Carolina Road, Oct. 16, a woman drove away without paying for $8.51 worth of gas in a late model white Honda with a North Carolina license plate.

Grand larceny: 400 block Great Fork, Oct. 24, someone removed a Mettler digital scale belonging to the Department of Agriculture.
