Edith Stieh Powell, 72, of Fontaine St. and formerly of Fayetteville, N.C., died Wednesday, Nov. 2, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mrs. Powell was a native of Southampton County and was the daughter of the late Willie F. and Nannie Gay Stieh. She was the widow of Ben Powell. Mrs. Powell was a member of Walstone Baptist Church, Fayetteville.
Survivors include two sisters, Minnie Bulls of Sedley and Marjorie Bradshaw of Walters; three brothers, Charlie Stieh of Ivor, Mack Stieh of Courtland, J.E. Stieh of Franklin; nieces and nephews. Mrs. Powell was predeceased by two brothers and one sister, Will and Marvin Stieh and Winifred S. Burton.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 5, 1994, at Rosemont Cemetery, Sedley, by Rev. Wayne Underwood and the Rev. David Hobson. The family will receive friends at Wright Funeral Home from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Friday and at other times at the home of Mr. and Mrs. J.E. Stieh, 112 Beechwood Drive, Franklin.
Memorial donations may be made to a favorite charity.
