ALEXANDRE H. WOODHOUSE

Alexandre H. ``Alex'' Woodhouse, 69, of the 2200 block of Executive Drive, a retired schoolteacher, died Oct. 30, 1994, in Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

Mr. Woodhouse was born in Princess Anne County. He retired from the Virginia Beach school system, was a faithful member and usher for many years at Piney Grove Baptist Church, past president of the Virginia State University Alumni Association, member of the Virginia Beach Retired Teachers Association, past master Improve Lodge (NU)192 F. & A.M. Inc., and member of Arabia Temple (NU)12 Alpha & Omega Consistory (NU)9 and the NAACP.

Survivors include two sisters, Inez H. Woodhouse of New York City and Beatrice W. Stone of Philadelphia, Pa.; two brothers, John R. Woodhouse of Norfolk and Oscar E. Woodhouse of Hampton; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A funeral will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Friday in Piney Grove Baptist Church, 2804 Holland Road, Virginia Beach, by the Rev. Charles Vinson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. A wake will be from 7 to 8 p.m. today at Hale Funeral Home.
