THELMA H. CARTER

Thelma H. Carter of the 2600 block of Virginia Beach Blvd., a retired self-employed interior decorator, died Oct. 30, 1994, in a local hospital.

Mrs. Carter was born in Hickory, Va. She was a member of First Calvary Baptist Church; Deaconess Board, Senior; Missionary Circle, Charter Member of Women's Club and Retired Sunday School Teacher (taught for 25 years). She was a member of Arabia Court (NU)23 -Daughters of Isis; St. Thomas Chapter (NU)51 - Order of Eastern Star; Cohesion Court (NU)3 Herons of Jericho; John W. Barnes (NU)8 - Order of The Golden Circle; and Zeta Amicae of Beta Theta Zeta Sorority. She was the widow of Herbert J. Carter.

Survivors include nieces Pamela H. Campbell and Debbie Hunter of Baltimore, Md.; nephews Leonard Hunter and Harry Hunter of Philadelphia, Pa.; also Virginia M. Paxton, Elizabeth M. Anderson and John A. Morris, all of Norfolk, and Estelle M. Riddick of Chesapeake.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday at First Calvary Baptist Church by Dr. Johnnie L. White. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Graves Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m.
