William Douglas Jones, 64, of the 1000 block of Coolidge St., died Oct. 28, 1994, in Lake Taylor Hospital.
Mr. Jones was born in Portsmouth. He was a retired self-employed carpenter for 30 years. He retired three years ago. He was a Korean War veteran.
Survivors include a sister, Norfleet Harris of E. Orange, N.J.; 16 nieces, including Phyllis Copeland, Saundra Alston, Brenda J. Bonner and Sheila J. Johnson, all of Norfolk, Audrey J. Bowe of Laurel, Md., and Zonda Lyles of Newark, N.J.; and four nephews, George E. Johnson Jr. of Waldorf, Md., Petro M. Johnson and Cedric Harris, both of Norfolk, and Ervin Pablo Harris of Newark, N.J.; 35 great-nieces and nephews; and 23 great-great nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Friday in Discipleship Baptist Church by the Rev. Anthony Moses. E.A. Hughes Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The family will receive friends at 1117 Midland St., Norfolk, and will assemble at noon Friday for the procession to the church. The body will be placed in the church at 10 a.m. for viewing till funeral time. Discipleship Baptist Church is located at 3600 Race St., corner of Airline and Race St., Portsmouth.
