Captain William Slocum Bloodgood Sr., 96, formerly of Norfolk, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, in a Hampton health care center.
He was a retired licensed tugboat captain for over 35 years. Capt. Bloodgood was born in Portsmouth and was the widower of Catherine Wyatt Bloodgood. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church in Norfolk and The Wesleymen.
Survivors include a son, William S. Bloodgood Jr. of Hampton; and four grandchildren, Amanda R. Bloodgood of Norfolk, Wayne W. Bloodgood of Atlanta, Stephen E. Masters and Laurie Marshall, both of Poquoson.
A graveside funeral service will be conducted on Sunday, Nov. 6, 1994, at 2 p.m. in Cedar Grove Cemetery, Norfolk, by Dr. W. Emmett M. Diggs. Cox Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
