MARY A. KEENE

Mary Allen Keene of Portsmouth died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, in Maryview Medical Center.

Mrs. Keene was a native of Mecklenburg County, Va., and lived in Portsmouth for more than 40 years. She was a graduate in 1944 of Portsmouth General Hospital's School of Nursing, formerly King's Daughters Hospital. She was a sustaining member of the Portsmouth Service League and a member of the Portsmouth General Hospital Auxiliary.

Survivors include her daughter, Cartie Hamilton of Chesapeake; two sons, Allen O. Keene and J. David Keene, both of Portsmouth; six grandchildren, Carter and Jamie Hamilton, Kim and Kathy Keene and Alexandra and Elizabeth Keene. Other survivors include three nephews and two nieces.

A graveside service will be held Sunday at 2 p.m. in Churchland Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. R. Clint Hopkins presiding. The family will be at Baker-Foster Funeral Home, Bennett's Creek Chapel, today from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Following Sunday's service, the family will receive friends at the home of Allen O. Keene. Memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
