Gertrude H. Brown, 78, of the 2900 block of Theodorus Court, died Nov. 2, 1994, in Virginia Beach.
Mrs. Brown was born in Schenectady, N.Y., and was the widow of William A. Brown. She retired as a housekeeper for the state of New York. She was a member of Star of the Sea Catholic Church, Virginia Beach Parks and Recreation Couples, and Virginia Beach Lions Club for the Blind.
Survivors include a daughter, Agnes G. Antun of Virginia Beach; a son, James L. Brown and his wife, Marie, of Houston; six grandchildren, Michele Smeltzer and her husband, Jim, of Virginia Beach, Parris Goestchius and her husband, George, of Spring Vallye, N.Y., Jim, Melissa, Brenda and Kevin of Houston; five great-grandchildren, Kimberly Allen, James Smeltzer Jr., Elizabeth Toth of Florida and George Jr. and Wendi Goestchius.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Monday in Princess Anne Memorial Park by Father Mike Breslin. Friends may call at 2926 Theodorus Court. Kellum Funeral Home, Bonney Road Chapel, is handling arrangements. At the family's request, in lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
