Waverly Gwaltney Goodman, 88, a retired school teacher, died Thursday, Nov. 3, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mrs. Goodman was born in Isle of Wight County, Va., and was retired from the Norfolk city public schools. She was the widow of William Mac Goodman and a member of Larchmont United Methodist Church. She was a graduate of the College of William and Mary.
Survivors include a daughter, Jacqueline G. Bayer of Surry, Va.; a sister, Mary Boyce Gwaltney Wynne of Smithfield, Va.; three grandchildren, Seth J. Bayer of Winchester, Mass., Hayden W. Bayer of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Sara B. Blessing of Houston, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
A graveside service will be conducted at 1 p.m. Monday in Forest Lawn Cemetery by Dr. Lewis H. Morgan. Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, is handling arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Larchmont United Methodist Church, Norfolk.
