CHANCE TO SEE ORCHIDS THAT BLOOM IN THE FALL

ORCHIDS ARE among the most beautiful flowers you can grow. Visit Pembroke Mall on Friday, Saturday and next Sunday to see exotic orchids grown by members of the Tidewater Orchid Society.

Orchids that don't bloom in spring will be on display, and it's a good time to learn how to grow them. Experts will be there to give advice and sell orchids. Call 489-1825. WATER BUT DON'T PRUNE

Keep azaleas and camellias well-watered during dry weather. Do not prune until after flowering next spring. SEEDING SOME ANNUALS

Annual flowers that can be seeded now include sweet alyssum, calendula, cornflower, wallflower, larkspur, nasturtium, California poppy, Oriental poppy and snapdragons. Have a well-prepared seed bed and scatter the seed on top of the ground and rake it in. ILLUSTRATION: Color photo
