I have reached this point in the Virginia Senate campaign without knowing how I'm going to vote. The choices are two men with extreme credibility problems, and door No. 3.
I want Mr. North to lose. I don't trust him. I don't believe he is remotely qualified.
Mr. Robb (a curious name for a politician) is untrustworthy, too, but he is qualified to serve.
Mr. Coleman seems trustworthy and is probably qualified. Who knows?
I am definitely going to vote against Mr. North. I don't want him to represent the state or me in any way.
Mr. Robb is the best chance to defeat Mr. North, but not the best candidate.
Mr. Coleman is the best choice, but I don't think he can win.
The two major parties have given us this dilemma. Surely two candidates could have been chosen who were qualified but without the credibility problems. They certainly don't care about the citizens, Virginia or the country; only about power and the patronage they can disperse. I know that's politics, but it shouldn't always be that way.
