`DO YOU LIKE BILL CLINTON ?'

The election this year is very sobering and not to be taken lightly. The question is not, ``Do you like Ollie North?'' It's not even, ``Do you think he lied or misled Congress or anyone else?''

The question is, ``Do you like Bill Clinton?'' Do you agree with his policies and goals nationally and internationally for America, for your job or business, your family and yourself?

Do you want us to continue in that direction?

If you honestly do think everything is heading in the right direction for America, then vote for Charles Spittal Robb on Tuesday. Robb supports just about every position of Bill Clinton. He votes with Clinton 95 percent of the time and often has been the one vote that has pushed Clinton's policy to being passed.

If you do not believe that the county is moving toward its best and highest purpose and if the policies of Clinton have concerned you, then you must not support Robb this time. If you believe homosexuals in the military is morally wrong and destructive for our U.S. armed forces, then you cannot vote for Robb this time.

So what will that mean? For some of you who have supported Robb in the past, not knowing he would ever vote in favor of such policies, it may mean this time you simply do not vote if you can't vote for his opponent but can morally no longer tell him his vote represents you.

For some, it may mean you consider the independent candidate. Although now you begin to recall the last time there was an independent choice, Perot, and that those who voted for him actually helped elect Clinton with less than a majority (43 percent) of our country having its choice.

And some may agree with the conservative candidate and choose to take a stand for less governmental intervention in our lives, more local control of our schools and for families that reflect what we believe family is and not slanted to reflect the homosexual agenda. In that case, you will vote for Ollie North on Tuesday.

In any event, each of us must weigh carefully our decision this election because the direction of our country hangs in the balance. If you choose to vote Nov. 8, vote very carefully. MEMO: Webb, a Suffolk business owner, is former chairman of the Suffolk
