Max Schloss, 61, of the 1800 block of Longdale Drive, died Nov. 6, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. Schloss was a native of Edelfingen, Germany, and a resident of Norfolk for 57 years. He was a member of Congregation Beth El, and its Men's Club, Vaad Hakashrus and B'nai Brith.
Mr. Schloss was a graduate of the College of William and Mary, a First Lt. in the U.S. Army, and a president of Virginia Packing Company for 36 years.
Survivors include his devoted wife, Edice Aron Schloss; a son, Michael Schloss of Las Vegas; a daughter, Linda Schloss Kastriner and her husband, David, of Cedarhurst, N.Y.; his mother, Regina F. Schloss of Norfolk; two brothers, Bernie Schloss of Suffolk and Benjamin Schloss of Norfolk; two grandsons, Jared and Shea Kastriner of Cedarhurst. He will be missed by his family and many friends.
A temple service will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1994, at Congregation Beth El by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg and Cantor Jacob Tessler. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery. H.D. Oliver Funeral Apartments, Norfolk, is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Congregation Beth El or The Henry Schloss Scholarship Fund of the Hebrew Academy of Tidewater. The family will be at the residence.
