GUSSIE LEE CARNAHAN

Gussie Lee Carnahan, 85, of the 1300 block of Indian Run Road, passed away Nov. 6, 1994, in Virginia Beach after a long illness.

Mrs. Carnahan was born in Phoenix, Ariz., and was the widow of Anthony Wayne Carnahan, U.S. Navy Ret. She was a member of the Eastern Star, Ocean View Chapter 34.

Lee Carnahan founded the Virginia Cat Fanciers, Inc. 33 years ago. She also founded the Southern Domestic Foreign Shorthair Cat Club and the Hampton Roads Long Hair Cat Club. She was a director of the Giant Memory Bank of CFA. Mrs. Carnahan received a Distinguished Award at the 1978 National CFA Convention held in California.

A graveside service will be conducted at 11 a.m. Thursday in Hampton National Cemetery by the Rev. Charles Joy. Visitation will be Wednesday evening from 7 to 8 p.m. in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Laskin Road Chapel. Donations may be made to the Virginia Cat Fanciers Neuter-Spay Program, care of Helen Achstein 2424 River Oaks Drive, Chesapeake, Va. 23321.
