Fulton ``Ray'' Matthews Jr., 72, of the 11000 block of Twin Ponds Drive, a retired sales representative, died Nov. 6, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Matthews was born in Richmond and resided in the Tidewater area for 28 years. He had retired from Del Monte Sales Corp. after 25 years. He was a member of Thalia Lynn Baptist Church and was a decorated Bronze Star Navy veteran of World War II. He was a Master Mason of Strict Observance Masonic Lodge 0207 in Richmond since Nov. 1, 1946.
Survivors include his wife, Thelma ``Jane'' Matthews of Windsor; two daughters, Bonny Turnage of Atlanta, Ga., and Gail Miles of Nashville, Tenn.; three sisters, Myrtle Sewell, Rae Flowers and Lucille Martin, all of Richmond; and three grandchildren, Jeff Turnage and Doug Miles, both of Atlanta, Ga., and Lori Miles of Nashville, Tenn.
The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Bayside Chapel, by the Rev. Perry Crouch. Entombment will be in Rosewood Memorial Park Mausoleum. The family will be at the funeral home Tuesday from 7 to 9 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations to the American Heart Association.
