Douglas B. Spruill, 80, of the 1900 block of Meadowlake Drive, died Nov. 8, 1994, in Norfolk.
Mr. Spruill was born in Norfolk and was the former owner and operator of Letton Gooch Printer, 25th and Granby streets. He was the widower of Florence E. Spruill and was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II. He was an avid golfer and a member of several local golf clubs in the area.
Survivors include a stepdaughter, Jean Gooch Akehurst of Tampa, Fla.; a stepson, Robert E. Cartwright of Raleigh, N.C.; a brother, William T. Spruill of Waldorf, Md.; seven stepgrandchildren; two stepgreat-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews; and a companion and close friend for over 15 years, Martha Long of Norfolk.
A funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Paul D. Moore. Burial will be in Forest Lawn Cemetery. The family will be at his home.
