A news brief in the Sept. 15 Compass about Oakwood Elementary
special education teacher Louise Goff contained an error. Goff, who
won the National Council of Negro Women's ``Excellence in Teaching
Award'' for the mid-Atlantic region, was quoted inaccurately as
saying she prefers to call her students ``at risk.'' That
information was included by mistake in a press release about Goff's
winning the award.
