SUFFOLK CRIME REPORT

The crimes listed here were reported to the Suffolk Police Department. Because they are initial reports, they are allegations only and may or may not have resulted in criminal charges.

DISTRICT A

Residential breaking and entering: 4000 block Magnolia Drive, Oct. 30, someone entered probably through an unlocked garage door and removed several miscellaneous items.

Vandalism: 2800 block Colonial Drive, Oct. 30, someone pried out a section of the bedroom window, but there was no sign of entry.

Assault and battery: 4500 block Magnolia Drive, Oct. 30, a woman was assaulted by a man who was arrested at the scene.

Vandalism: 4600 block Hardy Drive, Oct. 30, a woman left home only to return and find a window had been broken, but there was no sign of entry.

DISTRICT B

Petty larceny: 3300 block Pruden Blvd., Oct. 28, a school girl's backpack with a wallet, car and house keys, was reported missing by her mother.

Grand larceny: 5100 block Nansemond Parkway, Oct. 30, someone took a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass, 2-door, green and gray vehicle from a church parking lot.

Possession of marijuana: 3900 block Sleepy Hole Road, Oct. 30, during a car search, the driver was found to be in possession of marijuana and two juveniles with him were in possession of alcohol.

Armed robbery: Portsmouth Boulevard near truck weighing scales, Oct. 30, a man traveling east was cut off and stopped by another man in an old model Lincoln who pulled a handgun on him and ordered him out of his vehicle, which the suspect then took.

Grand larceny: 5100 block Godwin Blvd., Oct. 30, someone took 26 sheets of plywood, 160 nails, four shovels, two levels, one Craftsman skill saw, 1 yellow Black and Decker 7 1/4-inch saw and one crowbar.

Grand larceny: Godwin Boulevard and Sack Point Road, Oct. 31, someone entered a locked box on a wooden pole and removed a traffic recorder, identification number 6351-051, with a value of $2,000.

Petty larceny: 3400 block Pruden Blvd., Oct. 31, someone took a $30 wallet, gym bag, $23 in cash, $20 worth of clothing and a driver education book from a 1989 Ford Probe.

Throwing missile at a vehicle: Route 58 bypass and Pitchkettle Road, Oct. 31, someone threw a pumpkin off the overpass striking a 1989 Chevrolet Cavalier, causing damage to the hood, right headlight and turn signal and the grille.

Recovered vehicle: Portsmouth Boulevard, Oct. 31., police recovered a 1989 Chevrolet Blazer, stolen from an auto dealership in North Carolina.

DISTRICT C

Resisting arrest: 300 block Wilson St., Oct. 28, a juvenile pulled away from and struggled with a police officer after being informed he was under arrest.

Obstruction of justice: 300 block Wellons St., Oct. 28, a man cursed and moved aggressively toward a policeman as he investigated shots being fired in the neighborhood.

Grand larceny: 400 block Jackson St., Oct. 28, someone took a black Jawa moped.

Assault and battery on officer: 400 block Market St., Oct. 28, a juvenile pushed an officer and resisted arrest before being detained by his probation officer.

Petty larceny: 700 block Smith St., Oct. 29, someone took a red and white Cycle Pro Rod Shotgun 20-inch bicycle with a serial number of D570452768 and a city decal of 7937.

Petty larceny: 800 block West Constance Road, Oct. 29, someone took a Boston butt roast and four steaks from Be-Lo store without paying for the meat valued at about $30.

Petty larceny: 800 block Lincoln Ave., Oct. 29, a woman is said to have taken $90 and a wallet from a purse in the bedroom, while the owner slept.

Hit and run property damage: Smith and Wellons streets, Oct. 30, a woman hit another vehicle, fled the scene and was later arrested.

Fugitive: 900 block North Main St., Oct. 30, a man was found to be wanted in Connecticut for a probation violation after being arrested for driving under the influence of a substance.

Petty larceny: West Washington and Lee streets, Oct. 30, a juvenile took a red and yellow Murray 18-speed bicycle valued at about $75.

Petty larceny: 800 block West Constance Road, Oct. 30, a juvenile concealed a jar of Pro Styling hair gel valued at $2.19.

Petty larceny: 1400 block North Main St., Oct. 30, someone took 42 cans of tennis balls and two 6-foot wooden stepladders from the tennis complex at Lake Meade Landing.

Petty larceny: 800 block West Constance Road, Oct. 30, two people took $15 worth of meat from Be-Lo supermarket and fled in a white and blue Chevrolet Caprice.

Petty larceny: 1400 block North Main St., Oct. 30, three employees are suspected of taking money from Taco Bell cash registers.

Grand larceny: 600 block Butler Ave., Oct. 30, someone entered the rear sliding window of a 1984 Datsun 4-door causing $50 in damage and removing a Kenwood compact disc player valued at $315; a speaker box valued at $279; acoustic amplifiers valued at $300; 50 discs valued at $600; a Bowie knife valued at $60; and a pair of green tinted sunglasses valued at $50.

Assault on police: 100 block Wellons St., Oct. 30, a woman struck an officer before being charged with driving under the influence of a substance, reckless driving, assault and curse and abuse.

Hit and run: 400 block Kilby Ave., Oct. 30, between midnight and 8:30 a.m. someone struck a vehicle and fled the scene.

Throwing missile at occupied dwelling: 100 block South Saratoga St., Oct. 31, someone threw an object at an upstairs window causing damage.

Petty larceny: 800 block West Constance Road, Oct. 31, a man was seen concealing four bottles of men's cologne and stopped by a citizen at the exit of Rite Aid drug store.

Vandalism: 200 block Clay St., Oct. 31, a woman struck the hood of another woman's vehicle with a broom and kicked the driver's side door.

Concealed weapon: 800 block West Constance Road, Oct. 31, a man threatened another with a box cutter he pulled from his pocket after being detained for larceny charges.

Property damage: 300 block Smith St., Oct. 31, someone driving an older model gray car struck a blue 1985 Toyota Celica and fled.

Forging and uttering: 200 block West Washington St., Oct. 31, a man altered a check payable to someone else and cashed it.

Attempted breaking and entering of business: 100 block North Saratoga St., Oct. 31, someone tried to get into Locker Room Sports.

DISTRICT D

Grand larceny: 1200 block Blythewood Lane, Oct. 28, someone took one Pyramid AM/FM cassette radio valued at $180 and one Realistic equalizer valued at $40 from a vehicle.

Assault and battery: 200 block Kenyon Road, Oct. 28, two males had an argument on school bus 84, with one being struck over the left eye with a closed fist.

Possession of cocaine: 1500 block East Washington St., Oct. 28, a search during arrest resulted in a crack pipe being found in a female's pocket.

Possession of burglary tools: Bank and North Main streets, Oct. 28, a man was arrested on a warrant and found to have burglary tools.

Petty larceny: 400 block Carolina Road, Oct. 29, a man removed two bottles of beer valued at $1.15 each from Southern Food Store without paying and fled in a 1987 Suzuki truck with North Carolina license tags.

Grand larceny: 100 block Tynes St., Oct. 29, a woman is said to have removed a black Pro-39 Radio Shack scanner valued at $219 and an AC adapter valued at $13.98 from Johnson & Johnson Barber Shop.

Assault and battery: 200 block East Washington St., Oct. 29, a man said another man assaulted him with his fist several times.

Petty larceny: 1200 block Blythewood Lane, Oct. 29, someone removed a Virginia state inspection sticker dated May 1995 and a black wallet from a man's truck.

Unauthorized use of vehicle: 1100 block Nansemond Parkway, Oct. 29, two men borrowed a car but did not return it at the appointed time.

Grand larceny: 1100 block Nansemond Parkway, Oct. 29, two men removed two handguns from the bedroom on Nov. 7, a Jennings .22-caliber, blue steel, walnut grip, automatic 7-shot pistol and a black Beretta, 15-shot, 9mm gun, with a total value of $634.75.

Grand larceny auto: Cottonwood Road, Oct. 30, someone removed a 1982 gray Buick from a residence and abandoned it after a hit and run accident at Smith and Wellons streets.

Felonious assault: 100 block Greenfield Crescent, Oct. 30, one in a group of children threw a rock which struck someone on the head causing a laceration.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle: 200 block Raleigh Ave., Oct. 30, a woman said a man took her yellow 1985 Oldsmobile Delta automobile without her permission.

Throwing missile at motor vehicle: Underpass at East Washington and 12th streets, Oct. 31, a woman was headed west when someone just outside the overpass threw something at her car and broke the passenger side rear window and made two dents in the roof.

Throwing missile at motor vehicle: 1800 block East Washington St., Oct. 31, someone threw a rock at a car, damaging the passenger side window.

Throwing missile at motor vehicle: East Washington and 12th streets, Oct. 31, someone threw a rock from the overpass and struck a vehicle in the trunk area causing about $100 damage.

Hit and run: 500 block East Constance Road, Oct. 31, someone struck the right side of a blue 1986 Buick Century while it was parked at Be-Lo store.

Petty larceny: 1500 block East Washington St., Oct. 31, a woman said a male visitor took her RCA radio with a tape deck and fled.

Breaking and entering: 200 block of Holladay St., Oct. 31, someone got in through a window and took a Sony VCR.

DISTRICT E

Unauthorized use of motor vehicle: 4400 block Old Mill Road, Oct. 28, a woman said a man left with her vehicle and did not return.

Vandalism: 200 block Kenyon Road, Oct. 28, someone scratched a name on the driver's door on a 1980 red Ford Mustang at Lakeland High School parking lot.

Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle: 1900 Longstreet Lane, Oct. 28, a man borrowed a blue and white 1988 Ford F-150 pickup truck and did not return.

Petty larceny: 1500 Holland Road, Oct. 30, someone pumped $13 worth of gas and left without paying.

Hog bite: 1600 Ashburn Road, Oct. 30, a female was taking clothes off the line when a red colored hog with a white ring around the neck attacked her.

Grand larceny: 3000 block Jasmine Lane, Oct. 30, someone removed two trailer covers from the back of a flatbed trailer with New Jersey plates, valued at $300.

Petty larceny: 1500 block Holland Road, Oct. 30, someone pumped $8 worth of gas and left without paying.

Grand larceny: 8400 block Robbie Road, Oct. 31, someone removed an electric gas pump from the back of a farm-use truck and two large wrenches.

DISTRICT F

Petty larceny: 800 block Carolina Road, Oct. 28, someone pumped $23 worth of gas and left without paying.

Abandoned vehicle: 4000 block Desert Road, Oct. 28, a red and white 1984 Chevrolet Beretta was abandoned with no license plates.

Grand larceny: 1200 block Carolina Road, Oct. 29, Someone removed two truck tires from O.W. Wilkins & Son Inc., valued at $300.

Petty larceny: 800 block of Carolina Road, Oct. 30, a man and a woman pumped $7.84 in gas into a black and silver Ford Bronco and left without paying.

Grand larceny: 1000 block of Copeland Road, Oct. 31, someone removed a spare tire valued at $100, four shovels valued at $160, one thermal cooler valued at $80 and one other piece of equipment valued at $1,000 from a 1985 Chevrolet S10 pickup truck.

Possession of beeper on school property: 200 block Forest Glen Drive, Oct. 31, a student was found by a teacher to have a beeper on school property.

Petty larceny: 800 block of Carolina Road, Oct. 31, a man wearing an orange suit pumped $11.88 worth of gas and left in an older model gray car without paying. by CNB
