The Rev. Robert C. Trembly, 75, of the 4000 block of Woodland Drive, a retired electrician and ordained minister, died Nov. 9, 1994, in Portsmouth.
Born in Buckhannon, W.Va., he retired from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Shop 51, in 1975 and also was a retired ordained minister in the Church of God. He was a charter member of Westhaven Church of God, founding lay pastor of South Portsmouth Church of God, and was recently honored by the Church of God for many years as a lay pastor. He was a member of Colonial Good Sams Camping Club.
Survivors include his wife, Lucille Trembly; two daughters, Dorcas Helfant of Virginia Beach and Virginia Bonwell Bathe of Portsmouth; a son, Bert C. Trembly of Chesapeake; a brother, John P. Trembly of San Diego, Calif.; and a grandchild, Rebecca L.H. Saunders of Virginia Beach.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Friday in Westhaven Church of God by the Rev. Frank H. Allen. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at Snellings Funeral Home, Portsmouth Blvd. Chapel, from 7 to 9 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to West-haven Church of God.
