E.L. ``Bill'' Sikes, 65, of the 300 block of Taldan Ave., died Nov. 9, 1994, in Portsmouth.

Mr. Sikes was born in Lawrence County, Ga. He was retired from the U.S. Navy as a Senior Chief MMCS after 22 years. He was also retired from Sears, Roebuck & Co. He was a member of Fleet Reserve Association, Branch (NU)99, American Legion Post (NU)40, Disabled American Veterans Chapter (NU)20 and AARP.

Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Greathouse Sikes; four daughters, Debra F. Cole, Vanessa D. Andrews, Barbara J. Moore and Jada M. Whitt, all of Virginia Beach; a son, Thomas A. Sikes of Charlottesville, Va.; two sisters, Eunice Turner of Smyrna, Ga., and Mavis VanEtten of Macon, Ga.; eight grandchildren; a daughter-in-law, Diane L. Sikes of Charlottesville; and four sons-in-law, Patrick M. Cole, Steven F. Andrews, Jeff W. Moore and Thomas J. Whitt, all of Virginia Beach.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Saturday in Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Lynnhaven Chapel, by the Rev. Tommy Taylor. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens with full military honors. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today.
