Three men wanted in an attempted armed robbery in which one man was wounded have been arrested in North Carolina.
Accomack County Sheriff Robert Crockett identified the suspects as Gregory Wiggins, 32, of Craddockville; George H. Gaskill Jr., 30, of Exmore; and Mickey Crosby, 34, of Vineland, N.J. The sheriff said Tony Harris, 24, of Pungoteague was shot in the leg during the robbery attempt early Nov. 5. He was treated at Northampton-Accomack Memorial Hospital and released.
The three suspects, who were arrested Sunday in Jackson, N.C., waived extradition and were returned to Accomack County Wednesday. The sheriff also linked them to a Nov. 4 Pungoteague break-in.
Wiggins was charged with maiming, attempted robbery, breaking and entering and grand larceny, and held in Accomack County Jail without bail. Gaskill, charged with attempted robbery, was held in the county jail under $10,000 bail. Crosby was charged with breaking and entering and grand larceny, and held under $10,000 bail.
