SAMUEL J. SLOAN

Samuel James Sloan, 59, of the 2400 block of Stribling Lane, died Nov. 10, 1994, in his residence.

Mr. Sloan was born in Scranton, Pa. He retired from the Navy after 22 years and was Protestant by faith.

Survivors include his wife, Patricia A. Sloan; four daughters, Jennifer Sloan and Meredith Sloan, both of Norfolk, Samantha Sloan-Short of Rochester, N.Y., and Patricia Orcutt of Charlevoix, Mich.; two sons, Michael Sloan of Norfolk and Anthony P. Sloan of Charlevoix, Mich.; his mother, Helen I. Sloan of Victorville, Calif.; a sister, Helen I. Sloan of Victorville, Calif.; a brother, Alexander Sloan of Hesperia, Calif.; and three grandchildren.

A memorial service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday at Naval Amphibious Base, Little Creek, Chapel by Chaplain Frank Hayes. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
