2 HEARINGS ON SOUTHEASTERN EXPRESSWAY SET

A public hearing on the Southeastern Expressway is scheduled from 3 to 8 p.m. Monday at the Radisson Hotel, 1900 Pavilion Drive, in Virginia Beach. A second is planned Nov. 21 at the Holiday Inn Chesapeake, 725 Woodlake Drive.

The meetings, sponsored by the Corps of Engineers and Virginia Department of Transportation, will provide citizens a chance to informally review and discuss preliminary information for the proposed expressway, which would begin at the intersection of Interstates 64 and 464 and end at the Virginia Beach-Norfolk Expressway near Oceana Naval Air Station.

No formal presentation will be made at the meetings, but citizens can make oral and written comments for the official record. A continual audio/visual presentation will explain the proposed project.

Acquisition and relocation programs, together with tentative schedules for right of way acquisition and construction also will be discussed.

Written statements and other exhibits relative to the proposed project must be submitted to the department no later than Dec. 2 for inclusion in the public transcript. by CNB
