Walter Anderson Dalton of 166 Winthrop Drive died Tuesday, November 8, 1994, in Riverside Health Care Center.
He was born on August 23, 1915, in Keeling, Virginia, the son of Albert Monroe Dalton and Gillie Jane Oakes Dalton.
He was married to Maude Scruggs Dalton of the home. Mr. Dalton was a Veteran of W.W. II having served in the Army.
Mr. Dalton worked for Dan River Inc. most of his life but was associated with A.M. Pullen & Co., Greensboro, N.C., for several years just before and after W.W. II. He was manager of the Cost Accounting Department at Dan River when he retired in 1980.
He was a member of Kawanis Club, American Legion Post (NU)1097, Roman Eagle Lodge, Scottish Rite, National Association of Cost Accountants, and was Treasurer of Danville Concert Association for a number of years, Member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as Deacon and as a member of the Chancel Choir.
Besides his wife, he is survived by; two sons, Albert Lee Dalton of Keeling, and Walter Bruce Dalton of Norfolk, Virginia; one grandchild.
A graveside service was held Thursday 11:00 a.m. by Rev. Elbert Williamson in Highland Burial Park. The Roman Eagle Lodge conducted masonic rites at the grave. Arrangements by Townes Funeral Home, Danville, Va.
