James Hampton Vickers, 59, of the 1300 block of Jefferson St., died Nov. 12, 1994, in his residence.
Mr. Vickers was born in Ocean City, Md. He was an aviation instructor with Rice Aviation and an Army veteran of Vietnam, retired after 21 years. He was the recipient of the Bronze Star and Army Commendation Medal for service in Vietnam.
Survivors include his wife, Karri L. Blasier; two daughters, Melinda Dukes and Shannon Vickers and two sons, James Vickers and Stuart Vickers, all of Euless, Texas; a stepson, Toi James Blasier of Chesapeake; three sisters, Margaret LeFever of Virginia Beach, Connie James of Berlin, Md., and Barbara Gray of Ft. Worth, Texas; four brothers, George Lewis of West Virginia, Harold Vickers of Ocean City, Md., Gene Vickers of Berlin, Md., and Howard Vickers of San Diego, Calif.; a granddaughter, Zena, of Texas and a grandson, Xavier, of Texas.
A memorial service will be conducted at 7 p.m. Monday at Francis A. Gay Funeral Home, South Norfolk Chapel, by the Rev. Willis Switzer. Family and friends are invited to 900 Ballylinn Drive after memorial services.
