CRIME LINE

Local police are seeking public assistance in solving these cases:

PORTSMOUTH

On Friday, Oct. 21, about 5:30a.m., a man walked into the 7-Eleven at 5001 George Washington Highway and indicated he had a gun in his pocket.

The man ordered a cashier to open the register and hand over the money. After taking the money, the man casually walked out of the store as if he were a customer.

The suspect is described as white, 30 to 35, 6 feet tall and about 150 pounds. He was barefooted and was wearing blue jeans and a blue windbreaker. Witnesses said he appeared to be dirty and had acne scars on his face.

NORFOLK

Two men are wanted in the Oct. 25 murder of Jimmie Lee Gaye in the 500 block of Liberty Street.

Hakim Muhammad, 21, who is also known as Lawrence L. Deloatch and Lorrell, is described as black, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 140 pounds.

Jerome Spain, 18, who also is known at ``Toine,'' is described as black, 5 feet 11 inches tall and 130 pounds. His last known address was in the 700 block of Partridge Ave. in Norfolk.

VIRGINIA BEACH

On Tuesday, Aug. 30, about 6:15 a.m., a 63-year-old man was robbed of his wallet at gunpoint in front of his home on Fiona Lane in Avalon Woods.

After the robbery, the man determined that his home also had been broken into and ransacked.

The next day the robber was photographed as he used the stolen ATM card at a bank on Indian River Road. The man attempted to cover his face.

The suspect is described as white, in his 20s, about 6 feet tall and 200 pounds.

HAMPTON

Late on the evening of Sept. 24, someone entered the Peninsula Gun Works at 2511 W. Mercury Blvd.

Entry was gained by cutting a hole in the roof.
