PAUL SHARPE

Paul Sharpe, of the 1700 block of Portsmouth Blvd., owner and operator of Sharp's Upholstery for 30 years, died Nov. 12, 1994, in Maryview Hospital, Portsmouth.

Mr. Sharpe was born in Wilson, N.C. He was a member and former usher of Third Baptist Church and was a financial supporter of many and various church activities. He was recognized and honored as an ``Outstanding Businessman'' by Third Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth Davis Sharpe; a daughter, Bernice Sharpe Hyater of Chesapeake; a sister, Winnie Sharpe Pender of Wilson, N.C.; four brothers, Leroy Sharpe of Portsmouth, William Sharpe and Jimmie D. Sharpe, both of Wilson, N.C., and Raymond Sharpe of Durham, N.C.; three grandsons, Melvin Hyater III, Darryl E. Hyater and Keith C. Hyater, all of Chesapeake; two great-granddaughters, Iman Hyater and Amber Hyater, both of Chesapeake; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and long-time friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Rest Haven Cemetery, Wilson, N.C. Viewing will begin at 10 a.m. Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
