Louise Gornto Stephenson, 85, of the 4700 block of Haygood Road, died Nov. 13, 1994, in Sentara Leigh Hospital.
Mrs. Stephenson was born in Princess Anne County. She had worked for Frank R. Ford - Jeweler as a salesperson. She was the widow of Clarence M. Stephenson and was a member of Trinity Baptist Church. She was director of the Nursery Department at Trinity Baptist for many years and was member of Ruth Bible Class at Kempsville Baptist Church. She was a member of N&W Railroad Retirees Association. She was predeceased by her parents, Lydia R. McLin Gornto and Harry G. Gornto.
Survivors include two daughters, Jack (Vicki S.) Rowell and Ray (Jean S.) Cannon, both of Virginia Beach; grandchildren, Stephen Teets of Connecticut, Michael Teets of Missouri and Vicki Mahoney, Clarissa Beneze and Kevin Rowell, all of Virginia Beach; a loving and devoted niece, Gail S. Elks and several nieces and nephews.
The graveside service will be held at noon Tuesday in Forest Lawn Cemetery. Visitation will be held today from 7 to 9 p.m. at the family's home on 1941 Grey Friars Chase, Virginia Beach. Altmeyer Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
