ROBERT L. ETHERIDGE

Robert Leon Etheridge, 58, a retired heavy equipment operator, died Nov. 11, 1994, in the Hampton Veterans Administration Hospital.

Mr. Etheridge was born in Virginia Beach and retired from the City of Norfolk in 1992 after 30 years of service. He was also retired from the U.S. Air Force and was a member of Bethany Baptist Church in Chesapeake.

Survivors include his wife, Marie Etheridge; five daughters, Arlene, Grace, Salina and Diane, all of Virginia Beach, and Juriel of Hampton; three sons, Bernard Etheridge, Kenny and Elliot, all of Virginia Beach; three sisters, Minnie Ryant of Virginia Beach, Dorthy Adair of Baltimore and Emily Whitehurst of Florida; four brothers, William C., James and Earnest Etheridge, all of Virginia Beach, and Charles Etheridge of Germany; and 15 grandchildren. He was predeceased by his mother, Josephine Etheridge, and his father, William Etheridge.

A funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Bethany Baptist Church, Chesapeake, by the Rev. Jack Manley. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. The family will be at Hale's Funeral Home, 2100 Ballentine Blvd., Norfolk, from 7 to 9:30 p.m. today. Walton Funeral Service, Virginia Beach, is handling arrangements.
