BRADFORD M. DYER

Cmdr. Bradford Mayo Dyer, USN (Ret.), 80, of the 600 block of Pembroke Ave., died Nov. 13, 1994, in a Norfolk hospital.

Cmdr. Dyer was a native of Boston, Mass., and a resident of Tidewater since 1960. He was a Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and retired from the Navy as a naval aviator after 25 years of service to his country. Following his retirement, Cmdr. Dyer was employed as an engineer with Newport News Shipbuilding and Drydock for 15 years.

Cmdr. Dyer was an Episcopalian and also a member of The Association for Naval Aviation; Norfolk Sports Club; YMCA-South Hampton Roads; and Alpha Tau Omega. He graduated from Bridgton Academy and attended the University of Pennsylvania. He received his BA from George Washington University and later graduated from the Air War College.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Conlin Dyer; a daughter, Kristin D. Bosio of Virginia Beach; three sons, Captain Bruce P. Dyer, USN, of Alexandria, Va., Keith J. Dyer of Norfolk and John E. Dyer of Virginia Beach; and six grandchildren, Kathryn and Kimberly Dyer of Virginia Beach, Brady Dyer of Richmond, Jody Dyer of Norfolk and Suzanne and Brad Bosio of Virginia Beach.

A graveside service with honors will be conducted in Arlington National Cemetery. The family will receive friends in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, this evening from 6 to 7 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Bridgton Academy, North Bridgton, Maine 04057.
