BENJAMIN P. BRISTOW JR.

Benjamin ``BP'' Phillip Bristow Jr., 70, of the 4100 block of Wyndybrow Drive, died Nov. 14, 1994, in Portsmouth.

Mr. Bristow was born in Portsmouth and was retired from Seaboard Railroad and from the Norfolk Naval Shipyard, Planning and Estimating Department. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, Churchland Masonic Lodge and the Port Norfolk Royal Arch Chapter Building (NU)3. He was a veteran of the Army and the Navy.

Survivors include his wife, Jemima P. Bristow; three daughters, Carolyn Jean Burchell of Chula Vista, Calif., Joyce Diane Lukins of Costa Mesa, Calif., and Denise Yvonne Griffin of Virginia Beach; three stepdaughters, Myrtle Eloise Martin of Murfreesboro, N.C, Joyce M. Rash of Chesapeake and Robin Gayle Edmondson of Norfolk; a son, Stephen P. Bristow of Portsmouth; a stepson, G. Gary Puryear of Norfolk; five sisters, Alene Beem of Denver, Colo., Viola Estelle Armstrong of Smithfield, Va., Marjorie E. Benton of Portsmouth, Myrtle L. Grimes of Chesapeake and Charlotte Mae Padmos of Denver; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Snellings Funeral Home, Churchland Chapel, by the Rev. Philip Parker. Burial will be in Meadowbrook Memorial Gardens. The family will be at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. today and following the service at 4105 Wyndybrow Drive, Portsmouth. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
