William Carey ``Bill'' Valentine, 84, of the 400 block of Highland Ave., a retired salesman, died Nov. 14, 1994, in Hillhaven-Nansemond Nursing Center, Suffolk.
Mr. Valentine was born in Winston-Salem, N.C. He had retired from the Frank Tea and Spice Company. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Suffolk. He was a Sunday School teacher and was a life deacon. He was a member of the Suffolk Masonic Lodge 30. He was predeceased by his parents, Minnie Roberts Valentine and Henry Clay Valentine, a granddaughter, Jennifer L. ``Jenny'' Rawles and a brother, Clay Roberts Valentine.
Survivors include his wife, Inez Peterson Valentine of Suffolk; a daughter, Martha Jo V. Rawles of Roswell, Ga.; a son-in-law, Tommy Rawles of Roswell; a sister, Mary V. Williamson of Clinton, N.C.; and a granddaughter, Amy P. Rawles of Blacksburg, Va.
The funeral will be conducted at 1 p.m. Wednesday in Sidney F. Harrell Funeral Home by the Rev. Charles W. Thompson. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Holly Lawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home today from 7 to 8 p.m. and suggests that memorial contributions may be made to the Nansemond-Suffolk Rescue Squad, P.O. Box 1515, Suffolk, Va. 23434.
