Police have arrested a Norfolk man and charged him with fatally shooting his wife, who was found unconscious from gunshot wounds Sunday night.
Theodore Blount, 38, of the 1200 block of Lead St., was arrested at 9:30 p.m. Monday. He was charged with murder and a firearms violation in the shooting of Audrey Blount, 35. The couple were estranged.
Two police officers on patrol found the victim about 9:10 p.m. Sunday, lying on the ground in the 1100 block of Poppleton St. She died later at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.
Detectives believe that the slaying resulted from a domestic dispute, police spokesman Larry Hill said.
