WEAR THEM OUT

Regarding the Oct. 31 article about destruction of billions of dollars' worth of A-6E Intruder jets: I oppose such an incredible waste of taxpayers' money. The government spends our money to build these planes and then tells us we don't need them.

Now that we have them, we should wear them out like a family car. Blank checks are no longer in vogue.

I propose that, starting with the commander in chief of the armed forces, anyone implementing such decimation of usable resources be charged with destroying U.S. government property.
