A two-story home in a quiet neighborhood was destroyed by fire Tuesday afternoon.
Owner Anderson Cartwright, 77, watched as firefighters threw burning debris from a second-story window and fought smoke and flames that rose from the back of the white wooden house.
``It's an old house,'' said Cartwright, who had lived in the home on Sleepy Hollow road since 1967. ``It's been there ever since I can remember.''
Cartwright, who lived at the home with his wife and son, was called to the scene from a doctor's office, where he had taken his wife for an appointment. by CNB
