Scouting for Food.
The annual campaign to collect food and clothing for the needy is under way in Hampton Roads. Scouts will be on the streets starting at 9 a.m. Saturday to pick up donations. Just leave your items in a bag on the porch.
Most needed are canned fish and meats, soups, fruit and juices, vegetables, beans, evaporated milk and infant formula. Also, peanut butter, jams, jellies, honey, cereals and pasta. Please avoid foods in breakable containers.
Donations will be distributed by the Foodbank of Southeastern Virginia. GIVE IT A SWIRL

But who says we had to be on time?
As long as you get the box cleaned out before you put in the turkey, stuffing, gravy, cranberry sauce, pies and the crudites, you're in good shape. OVEN TIP
While you're at it, clean the oven, too. Those razor-blade scrapers - the ones automobile inspectors use to remove stickers from your windshield - are handy for scraping grease build-up off the oven door window. Just be careful you don't scrape the seal around the window's edge. by CNB
