JAMES A. BRIDGERS

James Alexander Bridgers, 74, of the 2100 block of Allison Drive, died Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1994, in Pitt County Memorial Hospital, Greenville, N.C., as a result of an automobile accident.

Mr. Bridgers, a native of Rocky Mount, N.C., was the son of John H. and Elizabeth Foster Bridgers. He was a stockman at the Norfolk Naval Air Station for 33 years. After retirement, he began another career with Signet Bank as a courier and worked for Signet for 10 years. He was a member of Harvest Assembly of God and was an Army veteran of World War II.

Survivors include his wife, Charity B. Bridgers of the home; a daughter, Aundra B. Pauling of Chesapeake; a son, James A. Bridgers Jr. of Piscataway, N.J.; three sisters, Christa Bell Bates, Marion Barnett and Retha M. Farmer; a brother, Johnnie E. Bridgers; and four grandchildren.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Saturday in Harvest Assembly of God, 525 Kempsville Road, Chesapeake, by Pastor Ronald Wienke. Burial will be in Rosewood Memorial Park. Viewing will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday at Riddick Funeral Service. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. Friday.
