A 30-year-old man has been charged with sexually assaulting two girls, ages 4 and 7, police said Wednesday.
Police spokesman Lou Thurston said Darrel L. Becknell of the 1400 block of Meals Gate Court assaulted two sisters on separate occasions over about a year. The assaults allegedly took place at Becknell's home after the girls played with his dog.
Thurston said the 4-year-old told her mother of the Nov. 7 assault, and, after that, the older sister came forward with a similar story. Becknell was charged Saturday with the assault on the younger sister, and was charged Tuesday with the assault on the older sister.
Becknell was held in the city jail Wednesday on $20,000 bail. Detective N.M. Bordner is investigating. ILLUSTRATION: Photo
