David W. Messmore has been appointed by the City Council as a commissioner on the Transportation and Safety Commission. He is president of Bridgewater Construction Inc.
Chesapeake City Councilman John W. Butt has been re-elected as vice chairman of the Tidewater Regional Transit Board. Appointed by the City Council, Butt was chosen because of his experience on transportation committees both on local and national levels. His term began in October and will expire in September 1995.
The TRT Board is responsible for operating the public transportation system for the region.
