Adolphe W. Klavans, 87, of the 1900 block of Claremont Drive, a retired C.P.A. with The Commissioner of Revenue Office in Norfolk with 45 years of service, died Nov. 17, 1994, in a local hospital.
Mr. Klavans was a native of Norfolk. He attended Virginia Polytechnic Institute, and was a longtime member of Congregation Beth El in Norfolk. He was a former member of the board of directors of Congregation Beth El, former president of The Unity Club of Norfolk and former officer of The Norfolk Sports Club.
Mr. Klavans was a devoted husband to his wife, Sara Klavans, for 62 years. He was also a beloved father of two children, Phyllis Brown of Harrison, N.Y. and Alan J. Klavans of Rye Brook, N.Y. Survivors also include four grandchildren, Thomas and Anne Charlotte Klavans and Holly and Nicholas Brown.
A chapel service will be conducted at noon today in H.D. Oliver Funeral Apts., Norfolk Chapel, by Rabbi Arthur Ruberg. Burial will follow in Forest Lawn Cemetery.
