Gillispie Pierce ``G.P.'' McClenny, 73, of Zuni, entered into eternal rest Wednesday, Nov. 16, 1994, at a local hospital.
He leaves to cherish his memory a loving and devoted wife, Mildred McClenny; three sons, Meade McClenny of Hempstead, N.Y., Gordon and Brian McClenny, both of Zuni; two daughters, Mildred Patricia McClenny of Zuni and Lorraine McClenny of Cary, N.C.; two brothers, Raymond McClenny of Zuni and Andrew McClenny of Richmond; two sisters, Cleo Barrett of Zuni and Edith Griffin of Washington, D.C.; seven grandchildren; and a host of other beloved relatives and friends.
Mr. McClenny will lie in state today from 2 to 8 p.m. at the Elvin Vaughan Funeral Home, Franklin, where the family will receive friends from 7 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in Gilfield Baptist Church, Zuni, with the Rev. Dr. Curtis Harris officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. McClenny Funeral Service, Inc., Charlottesville, Va., is handling arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Gilfield Baptist Church Building Fund.
