RICHARD M. DICKERSON

Richard M. ``Dick'' Dickerson, 76, a resident of Courtland, died Friday, Nov. 18, 1994, at Southampton Memorial Hospital, Franklin.

He was born in Sussex County and was a retired farmer. He was a member of Courtland Baptist Church, Courtland Masonic Lodge (NU)85, AF & AM and the Davis-Ridley Hunt Club in Courtland. He was the son of the late C.A. and Ruth Hawkins Dickerson. He was husband of the late Emily T. Dickerson and the brother of the late Sula D. Fannin, Lula D. Ellsworth, Lewis W. Dickerson, Clarence C. Dickerson and C.A. Dickerson Jr.

He is survived by four daughters, Betty D. Edwards and Peggy D. Bass, both of Courtland, Linda D. Raiford of Ivor and Jeannie D. Fuller of Boykins; one sister, Ann D. Kello of Windsor and two brothers, Jesse F. Dickerson of Waverly and William E. ``Bill'' Dickerson of Suffolk; six grandchildren, Richard W. ``Rich'' Edwards, Jason B. Edwards, Christina C. ``Christy'' Raiford, Charlie ``Mel'' Bass Jr., Samuel Quinton ``Sam'' Bass and James Henry ``Hank'' Fuller.

Funeral services will be held at Purviance Funeral Home, Wakefield, on Sunday at 2 p.m. by Dr. Gary R. Powell. Burial with Masonic rites will be in Riverside Cemetery, Courtland. The family will receive friends at 17105 Ivor Road, Courtland. Memorial donations may be made to Courtland Baptist Church, Courtland Volunteer Fire Department, Courtland Volunteer Rescue Squad or Sedley Volunteer Fire Department.
