NORMAN T. AMDAL

CWO-4 Norman T. Amdal, USN (Ret.), 53, died on Tuesday, Nov. 15, 1994 in McDonald Army Community Hospital.

He was a native of Everett, Wash., and a Peninsula resident for a number of years.

He was a district representative of Lutheran Brotherhood. He retired from the U.S. Navy in 1987 after 28 years of service. He was a member of Reformation Lutheran Church and was the president of the church council. He was a member of the Sons of Norway, Norsemen Forbundet, Fleet Reserve Association (NU)172, Langley Skeet Club and P.A.L.U. He was president of the Fraternal Investment Council Association of Virginia.

He is survived by his wife, Judith M. Amdal; two stepdaughters, Mary Elizabeth Frye of Newport News and Kristina M. Falwell of Lynchburg, Va.; a son, Eric C. Amdal of Virginia Beach; a stepson, Stephen D. Frye of Hampton; two sisters, Mary Simpson of Port Hadlock, Wash. and Julie Amdal of Everett, Wash.; two brothers, David Amdal of Port Hadlock, Wash. and Michael Amdal of Las Vegas, Nev.; and a grandson, Christian Thomas Amdal of Virginia Beach.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. today in Reformation Lutheran Church by the Rev. Harold J. Harter. Burial will follow in Peninsula Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to Reformation Lutheran Church Memorial Fund, 13100 Warwick Blvd., Newport News, Va. 23602. Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
