Esker Eddie Reed Jr., 65, of the 1300 block of Canary Drive, a retired pipe insulator, died Nov. 18, 1994, in a Virginia Beach hospital.
Mr. Reed was born in Hinton, W.Va., and was a member of Local 83, Pipefitters Union.
Survivors include his wife, Lala Mae Reed; a daughter, Sandra L. Becraft, and son-in-law, Steven, of Virginia Beach; a stepdaughter, Sandra Lee Clements of Ankeny, Iowa; two stepsons, Edward A. Bergmann of Virginia Beach and Harry Von Bergmann of Leesburg, Va.; two sisters, Virginia Cook of Charleston, W.Va. and Jean Pemberton of Inez, Ky.; a brother, Jack Edward Reed of Charleston, W.Va.; two grandchildren, Steven L. Becraft Jr. and Sterling Reed Becraft; and 10 stepgrandchildren.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Monday in Kellum Funeral Home, Pleasant Hall, Kempsville Chapel, by the Rev. Warren Wilson. Burial will be in Woodlawn Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and request memorials be made to the American Cancer Society.
