Emery C. Hunter, 85, died Nov. 18, 1994 in a Norfolk hospital.
Mr. Hunter was born in Portsmouth. He retired from civil service at N.O.B. after 25 years, was a member of Miles Memorial United Methodist Church, the men's bible class at the church and a former member of Crossroads Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Gertrude Y. Hunter; a son, Emery Leigh Hunter of Elizabeth City, N.C.; a stepdaughter, Joan Proden of Norfolk; two grandchildren; and two nieces, Dorothy Jolliff of Chesapeake and Bertha Mae Flemming of Fort Myers, Fla.
A funeral will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Tidewater Drive Chapel, by the Rev. Morris Bennett. Burial will be in Cypress Chapel Christian Church Cemetery, Suffolk. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 7 to 8 p.m. today. Memorial donations may be made to the church.
