SARAH T. BARRETT

Sarah Turner Barrett, 69, died Saturday, November 19, 1994, in Riverside Regional Medical Center Hospice. Sarah retired in 1984 from the Hampton City School system as a Special Education Aide. A peninsula resident for 49 years, she was a native of Zuni. Sarah was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Hampton, Order of the Eastern Star, and an avid birdwatcher.

Survivors include her son, E.C. Barrett, Jr., daughter-in-law, Sandra Barrett, daughter, Debra Barrett-Hayes and son-in-law, Martin Hayes, three grandchildren, Mills Thomas Barrett, Bryce Allen Barrett, and Cosby Martin Hayes, brothers, Alfred Turner of Newport News, Ernest Turner of Ivor, a sister, Betty Turner Johnson of Newport News and many life long friends.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 PM Monday evening at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home. A funeral service will be conducted 11 AM on Tuesday, November 22 at the R. Hayden Smith Funeral Home Chapel by the Rev. George L. Oehler. Graveside services will be in Parklawn Memorial Park.

The family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Cancer Society, 618 J. Clyde Morris Blvd., Newport News, 23601.
