Leatha E. Parker, 79, formerly of High Street (London Oaks), died Nov. 15, 1994, in Anchorage, Alaska.
Mrs. Parker was born in Chesapeake. She retired from the Portsmouth school system and was a member of Third Baptist Church, A.B. Mason Missionary Society and the Lydia Club.
Survivors include an adopted daughter, Paula Wilson and a son, Lindwood Parker Sr., both of Anchorage, Alaska; a brother, Willie Parker of Portsmouth; two grandchildren, Lindwood Parker Jr. and Danita Parker, both of Anchorage, Alaska; devoted long-time friend Jennie V. Hedgepeth of Portsmouth; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A funeral will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Third Baptist Church, Portsmouth, by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Fisher Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The body will be placed in the church at 1 p.m. The family will be at the residence of Mrs. Mae Barnes, 1513 Elm Ave., Portsmouth, and will assemble there for the processional.
