EARL L. BOYKIN SR.

Elder Earl L. Boykin Sr., 80, formerly of 2722 Blueberry Bay, a retired pastor, died Nov. 18, 1994 in Sentara Nursing Center, Norfolk.

Elder Boykin was born in Norfolk. He was former pastor of Mount Horeb Church of God in Christ, Chesapeake, for 17 years and a member and senior elder of Miracles of Faith Church of God in Christ. He was the widower of Betty H. Boykin.

Survivors include six daughters, Sementa R. Moses, Myra L. Bryan, Mary E. Dougherty, Faith L. Boykin and Hope V. Boykin, all of Virginia Beach and Linda Boykin of New York, N.Y.; three sons, Reginald Boykin of Edgewood, Md., and Earl L. Boykin, Jr. and Gerald D. Boykin, both of Chesapeake; a sister, Mary E. Coleman of Norfolk; two brothers, Melvin V. Boykin of Norfolk and Samuel L. Boykin of Chesapeake; 15 grandchildren; two sons-in-law; and one daughter-in-law.

A funeral will be conducted at noon Tuesday at Miracles of Faith Church of God in Christ, 500 Marlboro St., Chesapeake, where Elder James C. Little, pastor, will preside, and Dr. Wilbur L. Daniels will give the eulogy. Burial will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park. Viewing at Corprew Funeral Home will begin at noon Monday. The family will be at 4864 Tunlaw Court, Kempsville Lakes, Virginia Beach, and will assemble there for the funeral service.
