RONALD R. DEPANFILIS

Ronald Richard DePanfilis, 61, of the 2100 block of Trawler Court, passed away on Tuesday, Nov. 8, 1994, in his home, following a courageous struggle with cancer.

He was born April 9, 1933, in Ridgway, Pa., the son of the late John M. and Leta Luty DePanfilis. On Nov. 12, 1960, he married Doris J. Herzing, who survives.

Mr. DePanfilis had been employed in the plastics industry for 30 years including Ridgeway Color and Chemical, Raritan Plastics (Primex), American Hoechst Corporation (formerly Foster Grant, Inc.) for twenty-three years and Modern Dispersions, Inc.

He was a member of St. Leo's Alumni Association, American Legion Post (NU)151, and the Eastwood Club of Fitchburg, Ma. He served in the United States Navy during the Korean War.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two daughters, Jayne Marie DePanfilis of Kill Devil Hills, N.C., and Cara Mar DePanfilis of Harrisonburg, Va.; a son, Richard Ronald DePanfilis of Virginia Beach; four sisters, Mrs. Louis ``Marie'' Morelli, Mrs. Joseph ``Beatrice'' Bomba, Mrs. Louis ``Theresa'' Geitner, and Mrs. Frank ``Geraldine'' Zappia, all of Ridgway, Pa. He was preceded in death by his parents and four brothers, John, Joseph, James, and Francis DePanfilis.

Hollomon-Brown Funeral Home, Great Neck Chapel, was in charge of local arrangements. The body was sent to Meehan-Shilk Funeral Home, Ridgway, Pa. A Mass of Christian Burial and Committal services for the late Ronald DePanfilis were conducted Saturday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. in St. Leo's Catholic Church by Monsignor Paul H. Olmsted. Interment followed in St. Mary's Catholic Cemtery. A flag was folded and presented by the Rideway Servicemen's Honor Guard. The family requested that memorials be made to Children's Hospital of The King's Daughters.
