BRADFORD BRANCH SR.

Bradford Branch Sr., of the 1200 block of Ross Drive, a retired pipefitter, died Nov. 18, 1994, in Sentara Nursing Center, Portsmouth.

Mr. Branch was born in Severn, N.C. He had retired from Norfolk Naval Shipyard Shop 99 after 30 years. He was a member of the Third Baptist Church and was a former member of the Andrews Club and was a former assistant scout master. He was a U.S. Navy World War II veteran. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Barbara B. Wright and a son, Bradford Branch Jr.

Survivors include Byrdell C. Branch of Portsmouth, wife of 52 years; four daughters, Madeline R. Dawson, Sandra L. Tynes and Joanna Thomas, all of Portsmouth and Pamela A. Rountree of Chesapeake; three sons, Joseph M. Branch of Norfolk, Dr. Curtis W. Branch of New York, N.Y. and Timothy A. Branch of Chesapeake; four sisters, Lottie M. Stephenson and Martha Clark, both of Petersburg and Lauretta Joyner and Araminta Spruill, both of Conway, N.C.; a brother, Randolph Harris of South Ozone Park, N.Y.; 16 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; an uncle, William Stephenson of Baltimore, Md.; a special cousin, Anna R. Elliott of Chesapeake; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and in-laws and friends.

The funeral will be conducted at 11 a.m. Wednesday in Third Baptist Church by the Rev. Joe B. Fleming. Burial with military honors will be in Roosevelt Memorial Park, Chesapeake. Viewing will begin at noon Tuesday in Corprew Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the church at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
